When does Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 come out?
October 14, 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version comes later; its date has not been announced.
How much does Boltgun 2 cost?
The price has not been announced yet. Steam showed no price or pre-order when we last checked. We will update this page as soon as it is listed.
Is there a free demo?
Yes. A free demo with two levels was released in May 2026 during Warhammer Skulls and is listed on Steam as a separate app.
Is Boltgun 2 multiplayer or co-op?
No. The Steam page lists it as single-player only.
Do I need to play the first Boltgun?
It is not required, but the story picks up directly after the ending of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, so playing the first game gives you the context.
Who can I play as?
Ultramarine Malum Caedo (the hero of the first game) or Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath. You choose one per playthrough, and each has their own weapons and unique levels.
Does it support controllers?
Yes, Steam lists full controller support.
What languages are supported?
Full audio in English. Interface and subtitles in French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Czech, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Is it on Mac or Linux?
Only Windows is listed on Steam. There is no native Mac or Linux version announced.
Who made the music?
Guest composer Mick Gordon (DOOM 2016, DOOM Eternal) created an original track for the game, teased in the release date trailer.
What is in the free demo?
- Welcome to the Wilds: Mangrove swamp with giant trees; mutated cultists; Death Korps of Krieg allies; ends holding out against a cultist horde until extraction.
- Ice planet level: Imperial facility on a frozen world; Khorne Berserkers, Flesh Hounds and Bloodcrushers; finale hands you a Heavy Bolter.
