Jotform Sign alternative: when you did not want the forms

Jotform Sign's cheapest paid plan is $34 a month for 100 signed documents. FairSign is $12 a month with no document count. Buy Jotform instead if the document starts life as a web form.

Jotform Sign is part of Jotform, and Jotform is a forms company. The plans are counted in monthly submissions and form views, with signed documents metered alongside them.

If you are building forms, that bundle is good value. If you already have a contract as a PDF and need it signed, you are buying a forms platform to get a signature.

Which one should you actually buy?

Buy Jotform if the document starts as a form. Intake, conditional questions, payments on submission, and a signature at the end is a real workflow and Jotform does it properly.

Buy FairSign if the document is a finished PDF. You are then paying $34 a month for a meter you did not want, against $12 with no meter at all.

The tell is where the document comes from. If a person fills it in on your website, you want Jotform. If you email a contract you wrote in a word processor, you do not.

FAQ

Is Jotform's free plan enough for signing?
Ten signed documents a month is more generous than our three, so if that covers you, stay there. The comparison only starts to matter at the paid tier, where their cheapest plan is $34 a month.
Does FairSign have a form builder?
No. You can place text, date and checkbox fields on a PDF for signers to fill in, but there is no form designer, no conditional logic and no payment collection. If you need those, Jotform is the right tool.
What happens to my files?
Signing your own document happens entirely in your browser and the file never reaches our servers. A document you send to someone else is transferred and stored encrypted, then deleted 30 days after completion.
